Recipes For Essential Oils

Essential Oils are an amazing therapeutic way to heal and rejuvenate your body.

 Since I am new to essential oils, I decided to look online for some of the best diffusing “recipes.” There are a ton of different recipes for diffusing oils as well as different benefits from each blend. For thousands of years, essential oils have been used to heal and treat certain diseases and symptoms. In the Bible, Mary anointed Jesus with Lavender and the Three Wise Men brought Frankincense and Myrrh to Mary on the night of Jesus’ birth. Moreover, being the home remedy body that I am, I knew I had to start diffusing essential oils.

Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” John 12:3

Relaxation 

Oh my lanta, does this work wonders. Lavender is a calming oil, used frequently for massages and relaxation. Frankincense is a healing and calming herb. Recently, there has been mounds of research presented on the benefits of Frankincense. Check out my post, How to make your own toothpaste, where I explain more about the healing properties of Frankincense. When diffused together, this blend of lavender and frankincense is perfect for night time relaxation. We diffused this right before bed the other night and I had such a peaceful sleep! I usually toss and turn all night but diffusing this blend really helped. Additionally, it smells freaking fantastic.

Recipe:

Fill diffuser with reccommended water amount

3 drops of Lavender

3 drops of Frankincecnse

Diffuse for 30 mins to 1 hour, right before bed.

Sinuses

Another blend I recently tried is lavender and peppermint oil. Peppermint oil has multiple uses that span from digestion support to sinus relief to balancing hormones. It has a minty smell that really helps open up your airways. When I used this blend of lavender and peppermint in my diffuser, my sinus pain really released and I could feel a change in my breathing just after 30 minutes.

Recipe:

2 Drops of Lavender

4 Drops of Peppermint

Diffuse for 30 mins to 1 hour, and enjoy 🙂

 

Currently I have two different brands of essential oils, NOW and Aura Cacia.

You can buy both brands straight through Amazon. I also recently purchased essential oils from Edens Garden and I am waiting to test them out!

 

Allergies

Allergies are no fun at all. From the itchy throat to the nasal congestion, allergies just make everything worse. Well, diffusing essential oils can help with that. This recipe below helps relieve the nasal congestion, breathing issues, and more.

Recipe:

1 Drop of Lemon

4 Drops of Peppermint

1 Drop of Tea Tree

Diffuse as long as you want! I like to set mine at night with the automatic shut-off at 4 hours.

The fun part is picking out your diffuser!

My hubby and I got the Ultrasonic Vibration Essential Oil diffuser by Better Homes and Gardens. You can pick one up from Amazon! This diffuser lights up five different colors and has three different shades of each, or you can have no light at all. We LOVE ours!

Overall, I plan to try more recipes in my diffuser once the new oils come in the mail. I will keep you updated on my favorite blends and the benefits I receive from diffusing them!
